The National English Honor Society (NEHS), founded and sponsored by Sigma Tau Delta, is a national organization exclusively for high school students who merit special note for accomplishments in the field of English. Our Pines Charter Chapter’s primary goal is to promote appreciation for the literary arts within our school and community. We do this in many ways, including through our Recite Night and NEHS Poetry Slam events, our literary journal the atala, our Debate Mentorship Program, our promotion of various literary contests throughout the year, our celebration of our favorite authors on social media, and our participation in national initiatives such as Banned Books Week and Poem in Your Pocket Day.
